No better than malware

If you install a piece of software from a vendor you trust and it offers you a choice of items to install but then ignores that list, surely it’s no better than malware…? I’ve just upgraded to a new version of Zonealarm and had exactly that. I chose the custom install route as they try to install and change all sorts of things that I’m not interested in. I selected not to have my browser start page changed or the toolbar installed, only to find the toolbar was installed!
